How much luggage can you bring?
Each adult and child aged 3 and above may bring up to two items of luggage on board free of charge, regardless of ticket type. Infants do not have a separate luggage allowance and must share the accompanying adult’s allowance.
Passengers must be able to carry, lift and store their own luggage without assistance. All luggage must be clearly labelled with the passenger’s name and contact details. Bags must not block aisles, doors or emergency exits.

The published baggage rules distinguish between a personal item and a carry-on bag.
Personal item
A handbag, laptop bag or similar personal item must fit comfortably under the seat in front of you.
Carry-on bag
The maximum dimensions are 55 cm high × 40 cm wide × 23 cm deep. Carry-on bags must be stored in the overhead luggage racks.
Important: The two-item allowance is the total standard allowance, not two large carry-on suitcases in addition to a personal item. Make sure your items can be safely stored in the designated spaces.

Travelling with children and strollers
Children’s luggage

One stroller per child is accepted free of charge. Strollers must be folded before travel. Protective wrapping is recommended.

- Wheelchair spaces must be reserved at the time of booking.
- Only electric wheelchairs with integrated, manufacturer-installed batteries are permitted under the published rules.

Pets and assistance dogs
Domestic pets, including dogs and falcons, are permitted on board when transported in an approved carrier that meets the specified size limit.
Pet carrier requirements
- Maximum carrier dimensions: 55 × 40 × 23 cm.
- One pet carrier per passenger.
- The carrier replaces the standard carry-on luggage allowance. You cannot bring both a pet carrier and a separate carry-on bag.
- Pets must remain inside the carrier and under the passenger’s control.
Trained assistance dogs
Trained and certified assistance dogs are permitted but must be booked in advance through the Etihad Rail Contact Centre.
Bicycles, e-scooters and e-bikes
Bicycles, e-scooters and e-bikes are not permitted on Etihad Rail passenger services. Do not assume that folding or dismantling this equipment makes it acceptable as ordinary luggage.
Before departure: If you need to transport a bicycle or scooter, arrange an alternative method of transport.
Restricted and prohibited items
The passenger rules prohibit or restrict items that may pose a safety risk, obstruct other passengers or cannot be stored safely. The following categories are specifically relevant when preparing your luggage:

Passengers are responsible for carrying, lifting and storing their own luggage without assistance. Label each item with your name and contact details and place it only in a suitable storage area.
